Frequently Asked Questions

How telegenomics works, what we measure, and how we protect your clinical data.

What is Heritable Health?

Heritable Health is a clinical telegenomics service. We help patients understand their genetic health profile by pairing their uploaded DNA data with expert interpretation from board-certified doctors and geneticists.

Is the consultation mandatory?

No, but it is highly recommended. While our automated reports are clinically grounded, genetic information is best understood in the context of your personal and family medical history - which only a clinician can provide.

How accurate are the reports?

Our reports use a 5-tier evidence grading system. 'Strong' and 'Validated' tiers reflect findings that are well-supported by clinical consensus and the FDA. 'Emerging' and 'Exploratory' tiers reflect the latest research and should be viewed with greater uncertainty.

Will my insurance cover this?

Currently, Heritable Health is a self-pay service. We can provide a clinical summary that you can share with your primary care team, who may then coordinate diagnostic-grade follow-up testing that your insurance might cover.

How do you handle my privacy?

We are a HIPAA-covered entity. Your genetic data is encrypted at rest and isolated from your profile. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties (like insurers or employers) without your explicit clinical consent.

Can I use results from any DNA test?

We support raw data files from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, and most other major consumer services. If you haven't tested yet, we can coordinate a clinical-grade kit for you.
